Game Title:
Adam and Eve – The Untold Story. Make the title more effective in grabbing attention from people because Adam and Eve is a very well know story.
Concept statement:
In “Adam and Eva – The Untold Story”, the player character is Adam who is adventuring through the realm to find Eve after they got expelled from heaven and lost track of each other. He must avoid traps and solving the puzzle to advance throughout the game. The game will be in black and white colors until Adam reunited with Eve. Adam and Eva – Untold Story is a third-person perspective game.
Genre:
Platform, puzzle-solving, and pixel game. The platform genre helps the player to have a wider playing field, it also fits the game concept and storyline. Puzzle-solving is included to create challenges for players to overcome and make them interesting with an increase in difficulty.
Concept creation process/area:
I have been looking over the game on itch.io and other game platforms in general. I also read a lot of folktales and I decided to take the Adam and Eve story from The Bible as my idea to develop my game. The rescue princess concept from Mario also gave me some brief ideas about how I want to build my game. I also want to implement the famous game features such as flappy bird and jumping flatform game as some mini-game challenge in my game. I have developed this game concept by reading game ideas from many places and I decided that the platform game is the best suits my idea and storyline because it allows players to have such a big playing field and has more freedom of playing the game. I will try to keep the game colors consistent as black and white before Adam reunited with Eve. I want to illustrate my idea of love and families are very important for each individual and I will give the final scene a colorful bright ending.
Target audiences:
For nearly two decades, I've been a professional marketer. For just as long, I've also been an avid gamer. With a lens on both worlds, I've learned one thing: Gamers are an incredibly influential—and untapped—segment of consumers. And they aren't just budget-challenged young males. Through a lot of reading, I acknowledged that young people are more likely play video games than other, especially young male. My intended audience is young people from 10-28 years old. That’s why I used pixel art in my game as it is very friendly and reminds people of their favorite childhood game. This will attract people to play my game by reminding them of their classic childhood games such as Mario and other pixel games.
My game concept is to embrace the importance of love and family and how they will drastically affect your life. In modern society, where people just want to rush with life without enjoying the simple happiness called family. The storyline is based on Adam and Eve, a very famous story help to attract attention from gamers.
USP is the concept of the game is from a famous story and the concept art is very familiar with people whose childhood addicted to Mario, or 8 -bits pixel game.
Game treatment and concept art:
Setting: Adam will travel through different realms such as hell, heaven, and earth to gather intel on Eve. The main theme colors will be black and white.
Gameworld: 2d platform world constructed with elements that represent specific areas: hell ( lava, fire, demon); heaven (cloud, winged creatures, gods); earth (human, trees,..).
Mechanics: The player can jump, run or walk to the left and right and can attack. These movements will help the character advance through stages of the game. Powerups will be added to the game to help players complete specific stages of the game.
Plot: After eating the forbidden fruit and got expelled from heaven, Adam and Eve got separated. Adam decided to go on an adventure to find Eve, the one that symbolizes the colors in Adam’s life. That’s why throughout the game only the scene with Eve in it will contain colors. Adam has to solve puzzles, minigames and travel through realms to gather intel on Eve's location to find her.
Stages: The game will have 4 stages that are hell, earth, heaven, and minigame. Each stage contains a proper amount of levels and the puzzles increase in difficulty.
Characters: Gods, Adam, Eve, Lucifer, human,...
Concept Art:
I want to make a pixel platform game and my main play area will be heaven, earth, and hell. Pixel art is a little bit easier to create compare to others and it brings the feelings of a childhood 8-bits game that is very familiar with a large group of people. The model of the character, NPCs, enemies, and obstacles can be made using photoshop or a paint program. The stage background can be used by finding good background images on open sources online such as Pinterest, Twitter,... The element of each area, for example, hell the main theme will be death; for the earth, the main theme will be lifelike human, plants,..; and for heaven, the theme will be cloudy, angels,... Even though pixel art is not advanced but still it will be easier to make, and it fits our requirements for our game. The concept art includes the setting, characters will carry an ancient and god vibe.
